- Denzel Washington
Denzel Washington
One of the greatest and most well-liked actors of modern cinema, Denzel Washington's career started humbly with six years on the medical dramedy "St. Elsewhere." It didn't take long to prove his chops, though, winning his first Oscar® in 1989 as an ex-slave in Glory. He would win his second, this time as a lead actor, for Training Day, but it was his many non-Oscar roles that created the longest lasting memories. Washington majestically became the larger-than-life Malcolm X, and held his own against Tom Hanks as Philadelphia's homophobic lawyer. He has also stepped behind the lens, directing the drama Antwone Fisher.
