- Alfred Hitchcock
Alfred Hitchcock
The Master of Suspense began his career in his native England, directing a mix of comedies, drawing room dramas and mysteries. He found his signature macabre style after moving to the US, and had unparalleled freedom behind the camera to produce such shockers as Psycho and the very dark tale of obsession Vertigo. It may have been his TV show that sealed his fame, however, giving him two minutes of facetime each week (much longer than his cameos in each feature film), framing the mysteries with his droll sense of humor.
